This seems petty and falls in the same realm as clips v magazines. It is true I would rather hear .5 MOA than "tack driver" because MOA can be measured, but it does not give me any heartburn.

. You fell for it! How much more did it cost for black paint and the word Tactial on the bolt?
Don't worry a lot of others fell for it too.. Heck I recently bought a "tactical" stock for a couple of benjamins.
humm well mine is the short bull barrel so its even more tactical right?

Why does everyone use the words Tack Driver, Tactical or M4 when describing a firearm? It is not the weapon it is the person behind the weapon. If you have a firearm that shoots sub-minute, that is very helpful! The shooter is the one that is placing the round on target, the firearms is the delivery method... I notice prices go up or start high on Firearms when people are attached to their weapons, or have sunk lots of money into them, they tend to put things in the description like: Tack Driver or Tactical...
Also you know this is true when a Firearm company puts tactical with the name of the weapon, for example: Kimber or Remington. They are not the only ones there are a number of vendors out there that put these types of names with their firearms.

Take for instance a Colt M4 carbine. This is the only AR15 platform that can be call and M4. The contract awards went to this company for manufacture for the US Military.
All these other AR 15 type platforms are just that. Unless you have a GI M4, it is not a M4. I am a 15 Year Combat Infantryman with 5 tours I'm no expert, but I think I know a little bit.

Happy Trading!
Why pay NEW prices for used weapons when you can get a New weapon for a New price!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you know what completely upsets ME? the fact that everyone uses the phrase god made men, samuel colt made them equal...Samuel colt didn't do a F*cking thing in THIS century. the all famous colt 1911 was painstakenly developed by John Moses Browning, it was he who worked out the problems in the design, not samuel colt. Colt firearms did nothing but MARKET the design, then, what's really messed up is our military's biggest mistake ever. When we went to replace to old m1's, Armalite designed the Ar-10 , a 308 version of the ar 15, the military turned it down. to come back the Armalite corp designed the ar-15, but had financial problems and sold it to COlt, that in turn sold it to the military and took the credit for design. Yeah, 1911 and M4/ar 15 are words that everyone associates with colt, but the fact is, colt has done nothing but market and produce those firearms in this century..Sorry but stop giving colt all the credit..

Don't take this post the wrong way, I have nothing against colt firearms, they are designed with extreme quality and attention to detail, and american made by UAW workers, but many of colts most amazing pieces were designed by other people, and not samuel colt.

Tack driver is a relative term. I don't expect to see it described as an inaccurate spray and pray rifle by anyone putting one up for sale?

M4 just describes the profile to me, again, I don't expect to actually get a G.I M4. Many more experienced traders use the terms, M4 Profile, or M Forgery to more accurately describe what they have for sale.

Tactical is a descriptive term given to anything that folks think will appeal to tacticool folks.
Again, it doesn't really mean anything specific to me. I mostly picture something with all kinds of Chinese junque all over it.

These terms are just part of the game. Terms like Cream Puff, Cherry, Work Truck, Extra Clean One Owner, and Runs Out Great when describing used vehicles.

That quote has nothing to do with the 1911. It was due to the proliferation of Colt revolvers across the US during the westward expansion.

My favorite is when clothing is described as tactical. I usually shoot better when I'm wearing my tactical shirt, but I really start tack-driving when I gots me tactical pants on.
