Electric chainsaws (who's a fan?)

I was talked into buying a Stihl electric chainsaw a few years ago when they first came out. I find it to be extremely handy for around the place. I wouldn’t run a tree service with it, but it does good for simple tasks that need doing.

I think every battery powered chainsaw leaks bar oil - based on what I have read and heard from others in person running them. I try to run down my Milwaukee oil level or pour it back into the container before storing it. Even then I place a paper towel under the guard plate and another on the bottom of the storage box. Just really keeps the mess to a minimum.

Here is my Milwaukee box. Many cut a slit in the side so their chainsaw is ready to rock as the bar sticks out thru the slit. I break my chainsaw down and so it fits nearly in the box for storage. Doesn't bother me to assemble it and I prefer not having the bar sticking out. You can see the box is large enough I have multiple batteries, a Dremel and bits to resharpen the teeth, a handsaw, multiple wedges, a mallet, a couple of eye safety gear, gloves, quart of bar oil, bag with clean rags and wipes, and a first aid kit.

I have the Dewalt flexvolt 60v Chain saw. I bought it a few years back and have used it a fair amount. Has plenty of power for what I use it for. I seem to get about 100 cuts or so on their 2ah/6ah 60v battery. You have to make sure you watch the chain tension system as it vibrates loose and the chain comes off. It is tool less so you don't need the scrench. I bought another at a pawn shop as well

The down side is the batteries are expensive, but can be used in their 20v tools where you get extra run time
