Eliminating Georgia's weapons "license" - For God's sake people, do it!

We'll have to agree to disagree about what constitutes a good gun bill.

I will say this. This "Constitutional Carry Bill" will either be modified for the better or will be left to die a quiet death while a better bill moves forward. Either way, we'll see a truly good 2a bill this year, so I'm not concerned about the vessel that it arrives in.
I hope you are correct. Likely the best way to make that happen is to move THIS one along which presumably would spur debate around the issue. As long as the GWL is gone (which honestly is hard to imagine) it will be a massive success!

Won't be gone entirely, and honestly I wouldn't mind paying $10-20 every five years or whatever just to have it as an NICS bypass (though we should be doing away with all background checks, but that's not happening in today's climate). That comes in handy during Black Friday and buying panics when the system is clogged. Even without the system being clogged, it's the difference between pretty much being able to leave when I finish out the form versus waiting 5-15 minutes twiddling my thumbs. Those minutes add up.

But it shouldn't be required to carry anything, nor should there be any training course required. Even paying for it is bad enough (voter ID cards are free) but the State cronies have to get their pennies somewhere I guess.

I'm not sure who your legislative primer is aimed at and if you are trying to convince me that GCO is an effective organization but feel free to save the cyber space on both accounts. Not supporting the only bill that exists for the elimination of the unconstitutional GWL in Georgia is assinine and you know it. See how that works? We all have opinions.
My opinion is I'm thankful for those gun owners that are taking this simple action to have their voices heard and to motivate their legislatures to hopefully take a position supporting the expansion of 2A rights for Georgia's citizens. Too often many just sit on their thumbs and complain about the state of affairs and complain about anyone's attempt to address them.

Thank you for your e-mail. I’ve read the bill, and believe I can support it; but it may change as it moves through the committee process. I would point out that it still requires carry licenses.

Note:
It would seem after reading this, and according to Rep. Welch, it does not do away with carry permits?

 You may have to ping/call him. It clearly eliminates carry licenses. That's the whole point. ;) Please make sure he knows that and still supports it. It does make them optional if anyone still wants one for reciprocity in other states or retail FFL purchases etc.... I'm not sure what he's confusing. :noidea:

Yeah, I will. Problem is the language is a little confusing to me honestly, and to be sure he is a lawyer.
He used to be the attorney for Henry County. However if he supports it, it does not matter.
