I noticed my new leather 1911 holster was tight, so I put some wax on the inside, and then let it dry. I wanted to see how the 1911 fit and held, so I took the mag out, cleared the weapon and then slid it in and out of the holster a half doz times, satisfied with the fit, I put the gun and holster aside in its usual spot.

Later that day, I went for a motorcycle ride, and grabbed the 1911 with the new holster, strapped it on, and jumped on the bike.

When I got home I noticed I spent the afternoon carrying a gun with NO MAG IN IT!

What a dope.

You never carry a back up mag? I would never feel comfortable with 8 shots, but I guess it's better than none. Good one.

I carry atleast 1 spare, sometimes 2.
