I’m near Athens Ga. Does anyone know where I might get an appraisal on a Enfield No. 1 mk iii? It has the magazine cutoff and a bayonet on it. I’ve seen prices from $500 to +$1500 for the same rifle. I can’t figure out the difference between a $500 one and a +$1500 one.

Much depends on the manufacturer, date and condition. If it is WWI era with a mint barrel probably closer to 1k.

If it is GRI (Indian) probably less nearer the $500.

Post the manufaturer markings on either side of the wrist band.

Although the bayonet could have appeared at any time of course, the long bayonets were more a British thing. The Ishapore units tended to have originally been issued with shorter bayonets. Indians just wanted them for combat. British - maybe they were compensating for something and felt they needed the super long blade??????

If all numbers match it'd fetch high hundreds I'd think. Most are III*
In the pictures I have, the bolt and receiver match, the rear sight has a lined out serial number and one matching the bolt and receiver has been stamped. I haven’t looked it over closer than that.

What is the bayonet worth?
