You guys ever seen this elusive Elsie? Apparently they were released in Early 25 and I can’t find any in stock…anywhere.

I was thinking of buying an EXPS 3-2 with a G43 but this and an added red dot as a package seems like hot Kerrigold Butter.

Chime in, thanks!!

I am excited as well. hoping that they come out with some new models with different options (mag range, FFP, reticle, etc). But it's a great idea and I think will change a few minds. Like you I was thinking this with a red dot should be a great, compact, lightweight package.

Instead of a 1-10x with it's unforgiving eye box, this might be a great option to get you some magnification while still allowing a simple red dot, but not long and heavy like a traditional scope. Uses a miniACOG mount so that might help with weight as well?

Might even try something like this on a lever gun.

This may be why you can’t find them right now and they just came out in Jan/feb. They may be creating some upgrades in the lab and will release a FFP or something soon.

Wishful thinking on my part.

I've got one. Surprisingly it's a versatile little optic. My thoughts were to try it on a .300 blk SBR hunting AR so the first thing I did was compare it to my beloved 1.5-8 Razor LHT that has been filling that roll for years. The Vudu, optically is brighter, which really shocked me. It also has slightly better FOV at the same mag settings. My gripe with the reticle is the center dot is much larger than the Razor, but for most use cases this optic will fill, it's workable, perhaps preferred in some regard.
If you like an ACOG, I'm not sure what is not to like about having a variable mag range and adjustable diopter for aging eyes. The eye relief is also much better than an ACOG as most of them are super tight.
I can see this being great for clip-ons, lever actions, hunting or possible self defense when paired with a red-dot.

Maybe, maybe not. I would imagine that it would be a touch heavier, but drastically? I highly doubt it.

Maybe they can redesign the hell out out of FFP mechanism and get something sub 20 ounces, I don't know if I have seen a FFP sub 20 ounce scope, Vortex LHT is 21 and Leupold has on that's 20 and change even 20 ounces for a FFP vudu is a 25% increase over 16. To me any increase over 16 ounces the LHT is a better option at 22 on the high end vs 9! I love the premise of this scope Maybe they can go farther with it, Vortex needs a Gen2 LHT and keep pushing lighter weight scopes, 20 ounces seems to be a FFP barrier that needs to be broken. All the sub pound scopes are SFP for a reason.
