If you want them to last forever in the ground, get a five gallon bucket of black roofing sealer and dip the end of each post before putting in the ground.At $2.55 per bag of cement, that would get expensive pretty quickly. I wonder how well just the exterior paint would protect the post?

I believe you need some quick lime!I have run into a similar problem with concrete and a 55g drum... Except I don't want what I'm putting in it to last very long, any suggestions??? (I'm asking for a friend)
