Finally adopting a Swedish AG42B

Very cool! Interesting design. Do you know if they intended for the magazine to be changed during operations, or loaded from the top like an enfield? I see they have strippers, was this the primary means?

The intent was to primarily load from the top with stripper clips. This has such a weird action and because Im not interested in having my fingers mangled, ill just load from the magazine.

Does it auto close on the last round or something?

Bolt stays open on last round. It has an action like a hakim, where you push the dust cover forward, it attaches to the bolt, you then pull the dustcover and bolt backward and then the bolt will slam forward. Ive heard these making Garand thumb look like a walk in the park.

Once I pick this up I will have completed the Ljungman trifecta: AG42, Hakim and Rasheed. A certain poster on here has been enabling me to join the Ljungman club for a while. Looking forward to it for sure.

Had a Hakim in 8mm AFAIR, and it got me good one time... Way worse than the M1.

Maybe pre drill holes and run some brass screws down from the top side of the stock then cut them off flush.

Yea they do close with force eh. Somehow I got lucky and my reflexes outmoved that bolt once. Since then I'm extremely cautious
