I was loading some 300blk, Forster full length sizing die, with some random brass. I was using some Dillon case lube, all the brass prior to this one felt fine ran this case up and went to pull back and knew immediately I was screwed. I’m not sure what caused it, but I was able able to get it out, only issue is bent the primer pin nut.

As for my setup, I’m using a Dillon 550. Manually measuring my powder charge with a funnel over the powder through die. Measuring charge before raising the ram, insert brass raise ram, pour powder charge into funnel, lower ram rotate and repeat. Only thing I can figure is the few seconds while pouring the powder is letting the brass stick. It’s not uncommon to get some resistance initially while while lowering the ram, but nothing like this.

Are you sizing and decapping at the same time?!?!

Consider a bombproof Lee universal decapping die below if so,

Progressive presses are great for pistol rounds but there are a few mandatory steps for rifle brass before you can just hit the progressive.

Only clean ready to load brass ever enter my sizing dies, EVER! In fact I take the decapping pin out of most of not all my dies.

Meh….its going to happen every once in a while.
That is the chances you take when progressive loading. You run into a hiccup every so often. No big deal .

Yes, sizing and decapping at the same time. I’ve never had a problem with it before. The brass is cleaned with a rotary tumbler and SS pins and allowed to dry for a week or more before loading. Loaded thousands of rounds and this is the first time I’ve had it happen. This post is more of a laugh at my misfortune post

anyone tried the Frankford Arsenal stuck case remover? having other drill and tap out the brass works, but sure takes a while.
