It's on the tallest part of our house. Two story with a basement, not sure but probably 40 feet tall.
You know it's not quite as tall or hard to do if you get up on the roof.
(Not the kind of thing you do from a ladder .......)
I had a Buck Stoves Model 81 installed a few months ago in my fireplace. It really hasn't been cold enough to use it much but it does throw out the heat.

Yeah, it's 8 feet above the roof on a pitched section. From ground to top of chimney is about 38 feet. I have a 24 foot ladder and I'm fine on that, but up on a pitched roof. No thanks. Here's a picture to show how it's situated.
