I have used duracoat with great results for about 5 years. I have a 5906 that has seem many hundred rounds and much abuse. No problems. 300 blk. Ar. Much abuse No problem. But recently bought the duracoat self lubricating to coat my glock 20. Blasted with the same aluminum oxide. Cleaned with same degreaser. But finish is delaminating.Lauer weaponry says it's a problem with decontamination. Glock finished is hard to remove... Anyone have input? I am a profesional automotive refinisher. So I'm adept at various substrates, but want to hear yalls experience.

tennifer goes into the metal, Im guessing thats your problem.

I've Cerakoted dozens and dozens of Glock slides, never had any adhesion problems because of tenifer or otherwise. Can't comment on Duracoat because I've never used it. I've only blasted it off. :)

yeah it was a guess. Can the aluminum oxide be contaminated? would that a be an issue?

What temp is required to cerakote? My buddy owns Miller's powder coating but only powdcoats his guns for fear of heat from true ceracoting temps affecting the temper of his firearms steal. I'm no pro on the Rockwell scale so I trust experienced pro's

Sniper22 I have no idea what makes it self lubricating but trusted a company I've delt with for 5 years. I know Wilson combat or les Baer uses the same concept. So I had to try , but got poor results. Not looking for key punchers just thought some other compitent firearm refinisher might be able to help.
