I have been wanting to make file knives.
So I figured since I had plenty of grandma's old butcher knives that needed restoring I would start by learning how to do handles first.
It's nothing fancy, but I thought it turned out pretty good for my first go at it.

Finished my second handle yesterday, used micarta and an old Tide jug for the inlay lines.
I thought it turned out pretty good even if it was on a store bought blank.
I am looking forward to starting my first file knife.
Anybody with any tips on making file knives please let me know.
I don't have access to a metal furnace yet so I will be working the files in a fire pit. Any input would be awesome.
