First Tractor

I've only had the bush hog and tiller.

Been thinking about the pallet forks though so far not a big need.

The Land plane seems nice but not sure its effect on gravel driveways.
Once we move out to the land I'll be coming home almost every night and doing a u turn in the gravel with my trailer so whether I get a land plane or a box blade I'll be scraping my gravel driveway/parking pad weekly so I figure that's a must have for me. Now a bush hog is something I'll likely never have a need to own since the vast majority of my land will be gravel or woods. I plan to unload fencing and building supplies with the tractor so pallet forks seem like a handy thing to have.

I use a John Deer at work, I have a bucket, 6' rake, fork attachment and a 6' box blade. The best thing I made the county bye me was a Quick Connect attachment for all the attachment, it's must with a tractor. View attachment 8214171
99.9% of the time I'll probably only use 1-2 three point attachments so I don't know if I'll need it but it does seem like a handy gadget to add to the collection one day.

It’s a must if you ask me. I have a 5’ brush cutter, 6’ rake, 5’ box blade, trailer adapter, and single point plow……which only takes a few minutes to switch between. For the front, add some chain link ends to the top of the bucket and 4ft pallet forks are damn handy.

I've got the hooks on order, they will be installed this week. The pallet forks if I can't find a good set local I like the price of the Titan forks so I may just order a new set. The idea of unloading fence posts and fencing off the trailer without touching it seems like a no brainer.

Does anyone own a three point chipper for their tractor? For $3,000 it seems like something I may just stick with renting from Home Depot once or twice instead of owning that particular implement.

I have a set of forks from Titan, they have been throughly used with no complaints

If your tractor doesn't break, you're going to love it. I know Kioti is a popular brand, I just don't know much about them. You're going to love that loader. Implements begot more implements. Good ones cost money unfortunately. You'll find running the machine therapeutic. You'll find more and more things to do with it. Weight is your friend. Put some antifreeze in your rear tires. It'll ride better and have more traction. Buy heavy implements as well. They'll last much longer and work well. I've been using name brand stuff like Bush Hog. I haven't had any problems except a box blade. Can't remember brand, but I replaced it with a Bush Hog. 5' blade that weighs like 500-600lbs. Can't remember, but no problems since then. If it were me, I think a good box blade is all you need. But you may have some useful idea about the grader. Been around farm tractors all my life and we did what ever we needed with a box blade and a few other attachments. I think you'll have fun with it

Thanks, im mostly from the skid steer end of dirt moving but I did some experimenting today and I really enjoyed the tractor ergonomics and I may even begin to believe I prefer this method. I know they have different uses but for light dirt, mulch and gravel moving this tractor seems like it will be perfect. I'm trying to buy less expensive pieces while I figure out what I need then I can upgrade in the future with more permanent staples.

One other thing to consider is a counter weight to go on the 3 point hitch. Makes picking up a heavy load with the bucket or forks much safer. Heavy blade works well but a ballast box fits much closer to the back of the tractor and helps with maneuvering in a tight spot.
Found this one on Amazon with a quick search. You can fill them with sand, gravel, concrete. The one I have is filled with about 500 lbs of concrete, still have room in the top of it to carry chains, chain saw, shovel or other tools.

Congratulations. A real back saver. Pass on the chipper just have a debris pile/shooting back stop. Never ever have passengers when running the pto unless you don’t care for them. Wear seat belt as you have a ROPS. Enjoy, 8 powered by a long 680.
