Long story made short I've been wanting a new fish finder for my Kayak and I have a good excuse to upgrade. I have a Garmin Stryker4 the basic $120 one. This past weekend my wife dropped her pedal drive in the water in a known general area. My stryker does not show enough detail to locate them. Could I stay under $500 and get a fish finder that would show enough detail to find them? If so what option do I look for or any suggestions on what to get? Or anyone in the Lake Harding area scuba dive and want to go on a scavenger hunt?

Would imagine, this is just my thinking, that the bottom would be soft enough to just absorb a pedal drive. The SCUBA sounds promising though.

I don’t think any fish finders are good enough to identify a object on bottom they operate on a cone and according to deep the wider the cone.
