Now first I will say that I completely agree with what hoss did. But there is one problem, what they did, is not illegal in any way. The flag code says that there shall be no advertising on the flag. The painted bails are not the flag. The flag code says that it shouldn't be used as clothing. Well the bikinis are made with that pattern on them and are incomplete and two or ten successive bikinis off the manufacturing line wouldn't make one complete flag. So legally they can do that.

Actually, none of the things that you are not supposed to do with the flag are "illegal" in that the code sets out how the flag should and should not be treated, but does not criminalize or prohibit any activity.
So it's legal to burn it. Just not paint a hay bale and put a pride tag on it ?
That's just wrong. Just because you can plaster an American flag on everything doesn't mean you should, especially with advertising on it.
For just a second there I thought you were actually talking about Memorial Day...and I would have agreed.
