For those interested, we shot it today! After some growing pains, all the parts worked together and fired around 500 rounds without a problem. The fireball is ridiculous, and the concussion is outrageous, but it’s an absolute blast to shoot!

It's your deal so do what you want... For anything I would consider going to for defense... I want it to be practical, not compromised... I want it efficient. For the same size, I could build a pistol caliber that would give me comparable energy, larger diameter wound, cheaper to run, likely more reliable, and not pose a danger to myself. Meaning, hearing. I don't know that being woken from a sound sleep, I would have the time to properly fit earplugs and stuff.

Have you ever shot an AR that short? I have. it SUCKED. lol

It was like a flash bang going off in MY face, and so I tossed that 7" barrel and got a longer one with a flash can to make it bearable. And that was with proper eye and ear protection... haha

I have one with a pig nose. While loude as hell, I can’t say I experienced any blindness.

I’ve got a few, got a 7.5” 7.62x39 also. Waiting on that specific brace to show up for the uzi still. While ballistics may not be “ideal” I would not want to be on the bad end of any of these. Also a suppressor makes all of them tolerable without hearing protection while shooting under a roof so I’m not too worried about indoors.

Thanks. I find them more practical than long guns. Most ranges only go to 100 and one goes to 200 so not 7-800 shooting for me. Nor do I want to swing that inside or take it in a vehicle
