Bought a Craftsman 3.5 ton 20+ years ago and I've never had a problem with it. Only problem is that is large and heavy.
It has two features I really like.
1. When not under load the cradle rises very quickly so you don't have to crank it a bunch of times to reach the vehicle.
2. The lift valve controlled via the handle. Twist to the right and crank. Twist to the left and the jack lowers. I have two others that require removing the handle and putting it on the valve control, then twisting.
