Been there, done that, got the tee shirt. I was told by a HD MGR that on a daily basis they only honor discounts for active duty, retired and disabled. On Memorial Day and Veterans Day, all can get the discount. Thanks.

Sounds as if they don't know exactly what to tell vet's. He was told his military ID was out of date, not retired or disabled.

I think they only do the discount for current or retired (~20 years of service). How old is his ID?

Yes there is current serving ID which is a white vertical ID with a chip in it, then the blue retired ID like I posted. Also a pinkish colored for reserves and tan for dependents.
