Hello AK peoples. I know jack about ak's other than they are cool. I am an ar guy. My son has wanted one foe a long time, well tonite he bought his first a real nice polytech mak90 with a stock and pistol grip. I want to get him a wood or closer to wood looking pistol grip. The one on it is black. could any of you lead in the right direction or PM me if you have one to sale. Thanks so much, I enjoy reading this thread and seeing the group talk. ya'll got some sweet guns!!

also recommendation on good mags that are cheap for him to run. thx

My vote is for a real Chinese pistol grip, there should be some on GB...I look at them all the time...

Someone on here for sure will have a brown Bakelite grip they will kick your way I just know it.

As far as magazines stick with surplus steels from almost any country other than Korea. It’s always cool to run Chinese flat backs in a Chinese AK, and they’re not super unreasonable.

A lot of guys have some on here, including myself but all of my things are in boxes doing a move currently. Once I dig through my boxes again I’ll shoot you a PM if i have some reliable surplus steels or any flat backs I could kick your way if no one else can.

You did good on your purchase that AKM should serve your family well for a verrrryy long time!

I agree with fast306stang I would find a Chinese butt stock to complete the look. That will be harder to source than a pistol grip. The Chinese wood is expensive, just saying.

Just checked GB, there's at least a few Chinese grips on there. I REALLY like the checkered ones. A work of art in my eyes...

I think he has a wood stock but might be a modded Romanian wood stock for a straight cut receiver? I’m a sucker for the Chinese full furniture myself too. Ironwood designs calling yo nameeee

The Chinese grip isn't cheap per sé but it won't break the bank either. $60ish, give or take.
