You know I finally settled on the heatgun being the best method
I used some brake cleaner on a piece today just to see the results, it flushed that **** right off. It was a small piece though. My 74' kit has just enough Cosmo on it to be annoying, lol.
I think they used this drum as a Cosmoline Scoop
You can get top loader mag pouches from Numrich and Rapex. They are $10 each, so not exactly cheap IMO.
I never had an issue running a back loader on the M72, but 40 rounders do tend to bang around a lot. It will hit the ground or table and cause the rifle to flop around more when using the bipod. The bipod makes shooting the RPK far easier.
I think $35 for those Romy 40 rounders is steep, but where else are you gonna get them? A Russian is probably $50 or slightly more. They were a good deal at $29, but that might not happen again. If they don't sell, AoA will run a sale and you will have to jump on them quick. If they are selling, price won't change and one day they will be gone. Gamble is yours.
