OK,I think this shows your theory of them not being a southern species is incorrect if you only consider the eastern half of N.America,However as I said they are migrating into the south more due to their habitat in other parts of the country being removed/destroyed/lack of food sources,climate change,etc. and hence they have migrated to a better habitat as well as a more natural temperate climate they prefer due a more abundant food source as well for them to grow their packs.

As I recall the folks at certain Ga. Army base's have brought some into help control deer populations as well.So some of it has been man-made to a degree also.Either way they like the warmer climate which is only getting warmer mainly due in part to man's decision to ignore the fact that climate change is happening at much faster rate than previously thought.Even our own gov't study just released over Turkey day,

Dude, all hog populations in North America are due to human activity. They are not a native species and, unless they managed to swim an ocean, humans brought them here.

You keep using that word "migration". I do not think you know what it means. The coyote population is expanding, not migrating. They are still alive and well in their original territories. Which includes all of the Western United States and most of Western Canada.

You keep making blatantly wrong statements about what conditions are with animal populations. It's stuff that anyone with any basic knowledge and experience knows is wrong. You need to stop. All you are doing is destroying any credibility you have left with every post you make.

Stop looking for obscure internet reports that might kind of support your statements if you twist them a bit and start looking at all the information that is easy found that tells the obvious truth.

Most everything you are calling fact is theory. There are only core samples of the earth that tell us the climate changed. There is no written data only theory as to why. Present day climate change has theory as to why. No hard facts because man has never been this advanced before. Think of present day climate change as a science project in process of collecting data. The only true fact that we know is the earths climate does change. I am not as intelligent as you but I know the difference between hard facts and personal interpretation of incomplete data. I mean theory.

Wild hogs, properly applied, are a totally different animal from domestic pigs. Experts have found, in many areas with "wild hog" problems, that the animals in the wild are descended from farm stock not wild populations. Escaped or released domestic animals go where the food is, and multiply like rabbits. There is no necessary connection with "migration". (Except from farm to woods.)

BTW, just about dead center of their territory in 1900 is the Southern edge of Colorado. I don't think anyone considers Colorado to be the South. But I'm sure you will.
