I don't think they are born stupid. Born ignorant maybe and their parents fail to teach them so they grow up stupid.
There is a difference between ignorance and stupid. Ignorance can be fixed. Stupid has no cure.
I get aggravated when we get the first little cold snap and all the cars’ low tire pressure alerts start popping up.

I have been a mechanic for over forty years, have seen some stupid stuff and some very “confused” people. They did not know just how confused/mis-informed they really are ! I can only say that I hope a decent mechanic helped them and God bless their souls !
