I lived in Atlanta for 40 years and can only remember getting scammed once for 5000 bucks. The charges we made on plane tickets in Argentina or somewhere down there. The day before we were supposed to go on a family vacation. They were ironed out like the next day or two. Now since I lived here for 5 years I have had so many attempts on my cards it's stupid. I mean my main banking institution stopped giving me cards because they had so many bull crap charges. Obviously in areas I was not in. They actually called me and ask if I made the charges. They had to replace my card so many times they just stopped giving me cards. So I got a second account from another bank. Just got hit again and I am still trying to get my money back. It got to the point where I use on card for online purchases and another to keep the bulk of it in. Even that didn't stop them from hacking in and ripping me off. Gotten to the point where it's insane!

If a bank calls you to ask about your account, it is almost assuredly a fraudster on the other end of the line. If something is fishy they may send an alert through text, asking you to call them, but never, under any circumstances give any information about your account to a caller. Always tell them you are going to hang up and call the bank yourself. Any time I have done this, they immediately hang up on me.

Man, we have all been there. When traveling I never use my debit card. I have 2 low value cards for travel on I requested a $500 limit. This goes for fuel. The second has a $2500 limit. I do this to limit fraud charges should someone get ahold of my card info. I hope these practices can help you in the future. Yes, you can set a low limit on most cards. Because I onlt use them for travel and infrequently, the three times they scammed my cards I knew the locations. The credit card companies are not interested in investigating. One was the food service that runs the stores and some restaurant's in major airports. Yep Hartsfield. Surprise!

My credit card number has been scammed no less than 8 times. Biggest charge was 800$ form an on line dept store.
All before the 'tap' chip. I only have two but both are set up that when a charge is made of more than 1 dollar I get an alert sent to my phone. Some may think this is a nuisance but not to me.

I would seriously check your computer... in fact I would wipe it and start over. It really sounds like someone is seeing your every transaction.
THIS! It sounds like your digital wallet may have been compromised, e.g., stored/saved cards with online companies like Amazon. I get fraudulent charges on my business CC about once a year, I'm sure it is due to the amount I travel. It's a pain the ass but the CC company has always been very accommodating. I have gotten into the habit of going through my CC statements line by line each and every month to see if their is any suspicious activity, like $.99 charges, as soon as I see anything I contact the CC company. It sucks, but it's the day and age that we live in, people would rather spend their time trying to get something for free than to just get a job.

I did text them and denied charges. However, they did call me and see if I was at my home phone number. They also had several questions. The lady that called me was in the headquarter office in Lynchburg and I knew her because I had delt with her before. The bank was slammed when I went in and she stepped in to help. She delt with new account and loans. Just so happens she was the one that called. Small towns have some benefits. Not a whole lot but some. This bank is not like Bank of America or the like. They are nowhere that big.

Yeah I changed all my info after that. I have had a lot of attempts but often rejected. The attempts are unreal! Only one gets thought every now and then. It usually gets worked out and it's been a while since they actually got their hands on my funds.
