I just feel so safe with all of the super hero keyboard commandos around here(it must be super easy sitting in your underwear in the dark watching james yeager videos, gaining oh so much life experience)...no worries, I suppose I could start a charity to feed your kids.
I'm one of the few on here that's actually had to defend someone with a firearm. When two jerk offs were trying to gain entry into my mothers house when I was 16. It's not a pleasant experience and definitely something you don't forget.
Bottom line common thieves aren't terrorists that have been highly trained for the task at hand....so yeah, live to fight another day. My kids are more important, yet and still.

The truth is that, if, buy some miracle a armed citizen did wade into a fight w/ the sand devils and managed to take out just one or two, they are prob. going to get shot by the cops and or SWAT team. I think your Dammed if you do & damned if you dont...
Nope, according to some here, we are talking about an acrobatic parkour experience complete with 50 yard head shots on the move. I've got to find one of those classes since they are apparently so prevalent.
Keep in mind all of our judgment calls have been made after you've seen the information available to date about these terrorists.
The question is can you think quick enough to process what it is that is happening amidst all the gun fire and terror to do whatever it is you think you need to do.
These people were faced with men wearing all black with weapons and armor with an intent to murder certain people in a matter of minutes. It was after the attack the world came to know the who and the why.
I myself have never seen a person shot in real life, I even had to watch the rooftop video multiple times because I couldn't process all of what was happening, so I'd hope to be in a position that is not in immediate danger.
Im not trained nor do I train to run into a gunfight, I train to defend myself as a last resort, and my wife and and children at all costs. The most effective and safest being to escape. If I had a vantage point on that roof and just so happened to have my rifle with a number of magazines with me, I MAY have done what I could, but in all likelyhood as quick as it happened they will have executed the officer before I've processed what is happening and put my actions in motion to engage.
These guys train to kill as many as they can and/or die trying, that itself is a serious disadvantage.
Certain idealists and governments believe their lands are safer with laws restricting firearms and citizen's ownership of; Time and time and time again this theory is proven wrong.

Can't believe it took 186 posts before someone got it right. When the first responders arrive on scene they aren't going to see a good citizen and two terrorists. They will see three shooters and react accordingly.
My child is more important than myself, and I can't help but wonder what he will think of me if I turn tail and run when I could have done something about it. What is security, anyway? Good men will do what is right, if and when they can, no matter the consequences. This is the problem with our country today. I would rather my son grow up knowing what a man is and is not, know that his father was a deliberate man of resolution who died for a great cause, than to live and have my son think of his father as a coward and a man who bowed down to a bunch of thugs who wish to rid the world of freedom...And they do , you know. These Islamists are a bunch of animals. Look back at history throughout many countries and take a look at their resolve. Islamists are not religious. They are extreme psychopathic murderers doing whatever they can to get a foothold in this country. Am I an extremist for believing this? Well, you may look at how many other countries have dealt with them in the past (funny how many only look at American history) or you may look into the future and say only time will tell. There are plenty of ex-Islamists over here right now warning us of this plague and the tyrannical ways to their means. They are everything America is not supposed to be. Tolerance? How about Sharia law for tolerance? They wish it to be the laws of our land. Why hasn't each and every state outlawed Sharia law? This is what we are facing in America today, believe it or not. It is the truth and hard to swallow. Sorry, I got sidetracked....
If you believe you are the only man on this forum who has defended people with a firearm, you must be delirious. We're not all a bunch of internet commandos looking for attention. Most of the folks here really don't give a **** if you're a hero or anything else. There are civilians out here who will stack up against any military person in any scenario. Don't fool yourself.
