Replaced my front steps back in February, the railings and spindles are painted, and I have enough paint to do the treads and stringers. My concern is making the treads slick after a rain if I paint them. Any suggestions on an additive or texture to add? I don’t want to do texture strips.

Dust some sand on the fresh painted treads, done.
Excellent non slip paint additive.........
Stain the treads, paint the risers, install a runner......dun!!!

If it's pressure treated wood, and it should be, stain. You can add aggregate/sand.
my pressure treated steps have Behr solid color stain and are not slippery or slick when wet
Definitely want that nonslip additive either way. I got a broken arm when I learned my lesson on the subject.
Painful lessons are the ones you actually learn.
I've also used the Behr solid color stain on PT wood with excellent results. Lasts a long time even when exposed to the weather
