As you can see, I built it about a year ago. The barrel is an FN barrel that fell off the truck years ago, as these have never been for civilian sale as I understand it. LM marked upper with a real deal USGI fwd assist (not a new reproduction). 3 prong flash hider with split ring washer. NOS flat slip ring. Colt bcg, ch, buffertube assembly, Armalite stock I believe---no trap door. No broken teeth on the handguards. Some small blems on the bottom, but badass USGI regardless. NOS seatbelt sling.
I wanted this build to be as legit USGI as possible, the only thing that is not surplus is the Brownells A1 lower receiver/lpk, split washer for the flash hider and the buttstock screw. I scuffed the receiver and oven cured it with Alumahyde. It's a pretty tough and durable finish! Little mismatch in color but I can live with it. I did try to distress it a little bit, see pics. Milpar bayonet with M8A1 scabbard. In typical ODT fashion, I haven't shot it yet. Dammit.
