A few folks far more knowledgeable about old colts than myself have pointed out a few things 1 the stamp AA on my Colt 1911 stands for (Augusta Arsenal) which makes it a rebuild. They said it has a value of $1000 to $1500. I would not let it go for that cheap but if you are interested make me an offer.

Thanks to all that helped out!

cwolfe68 believe me it is a true Colt 1911 Army Issued! I have had many gun enthusiast and Georgia police officers look at the gun and all they say is how did i get my hands on such a gun and what a beauty she is. But I will call Colt this week and look into getting it confirmed! Thanks

I don't think anyone's doubting you, it's just that when you're dropping that kind of cash on a handgun, you'll want to have some official documentation to go with it.

Excellent piece of history you've got there!

How'd you manage to get such a nice crisp image of the roll mark, and your photo of the whole gun is blurry as blurry can be?

For $5500, you're gonna have to do a lot better with the photos.

This is what I meant by my comment. People can look and comment all they want, but it would be to your and the purchasers benefit to have it documented.
