GA Gun Club in Gwinnett is FINALLY opening May 30!

You pay in advance. To be honest, I'm not sure if they write down the time as you leave the counter to go into the range or once you get in there. If I had to guess, it's when you leave the counter because I doubt the watch you go in there first before writing down the time.
They keep your license, so I'm sure they'd make you pay for any extra time before giving it back.

I visited a couple of Saturday's ago when it was raining. Nice place. New is good compared to so many of the "long in the tooth" older shops.

Folks behind the counters were very friendly and they even had Coonan 1911's in .357 magnum that I got to fondle.

They had a killer price on .40cal reloads. 1,000 rds + ammo can for $209 I think? That was a couple of weeks ago so call before you go for the deal - they may have been on sale or something and I don't shoot .40. My buddy was the one who pointed out the great deal.

Did not shoot there so cannot comment on that aspect. The rental fees do seem a little high but honestly, a huge new building and lots of employees and a/c to pay for, I don't know how they're not charging more.

I'd be interested in a membership but they are over half an hour away and that's hard to fit into my weekday schedule. I've given up on going to indoor ranges on the weekends 'cause of the crowds.

I wish 'em all the best for their new business. I'm sure I'll get out there at some point to shoot the 100 yard range to zero some scopes.

My father-in-law has visited. He was told their busiest day is Sunday, so you should be fine on any other day. He did say you couldn't shoot pistols on the rifle range. This makes sense I guess as you wouldn't want to crowd up the rifle range with someone shooting pistols. However, because of this, he and my brother-in-law just did 30 mins each on the rifle and pistol range. Changing lanes would be an inconvenience.

The reason you can't use pistols on a 100 yard rifle range is because bullets tend to hit the floors, walls, and ceilings instead of the backstop. I don't blame them for that rule whatsoever. I just don't think their prices are going to work in that area, especially with pretty strong competition around them. They should have opened up in John's Creek or somewhere else with a higher concentration of very wealthy people that would easily buy more memberships and not bat an eye paying their range prices. That's obviously who they want to cater to.
That being said, I REALLY want to like them and frequent the facility, but not with their "policy" for background checks even if you have a CCW (that just bothers me out of principal - who else does this??) and their range prices and time limits. They need to get with the program!

There is more money in Johns Creek/Alpha, but its mostly yuppies that are afraid of guns. They are banking on memberships for sure because at $100/hr for me and three guests to shoot rifle is not going to keep them in business. It's absurd whether or not you're "wealthy". And then if you want to switch to pistol, you have to grab all your stuff and move to another lane?? The kicker is their gun prices. Oh geez.

On the flip side, the membership prices are very reasonable if you go several times a month. I'm probably going to get one in the spring. I'd hate to see them fail. Very nice people and excellent facility.

I've been in and looked around. Nice facility and lots of stock. The range prices are a little too rich for my blood.

They're not THAT bad for ONE person. $25/hr for the 100yard range isn't bad. It's additional shooters (at first person rate) that kills it.
