The first time I caught a gar i was like 7 and we caught it on a limb hook scared the hell out me i thought it was a monster my dad thought my reaction was the funniest thing ever lol

Use to catch them things all the time in Louisiana best way to cook them is put whole fish on cedar plank and cook for 4hours at 425 deg. Then take out of oven throw fish away and eat cedar plank!!! Or make Gar balls.
