son n law drew a zone 5 tag. He and his buds are going. Any suggestions for the Ocumlgee ? They don’t have a clue what to do other than YouTube videos. I’m there for backup later. But I do hope they hook up.

I would look south of Macon you can put boat in hwy 96 below Air Force Base in Warner Robins and run north and south its been years since I been there, they were gaters there 20 years ago ,I would definitely go ahead of time and try to pick one out.good luck

Ocmulgee has been hunted and poached clean. I would be shocked if they hook a gator there. Literally. It is also a very shallow river and the oxbows are difficult without the right kind of boat. If it were me I would hire a guide who has access to private property where there are known gators. Zone 5 is pretty weak, overall, but success certainly isn't impossible. Good luck to him.
