Gauging AR BCG's

The wise ones that proclaim the Microbest phosphate and chrome lined BCGs are the best also say that PSA Premium BCG is made by Microbest (same as BCM and others). They have the PSA logo on them if thats a concern. That would be a no-brainer budget priced, and easily acquired BCG imho.

My experience, and examples of such are in the chart above, is that PSA BCG’s are very hit n’ miss……with more misses than hits. Microbest and A.O. Precision branded BCG’s are more reliable in their specs, and always available at under $140.

There is very little difference in price between the PSA Premium BCG and a Microbest or A.O. Precision. As a matter of fact, at this moment in time, the full milspec A.O. Precision BCG is $99.95 at AR15 discounts.com, while the PSA Premium BCG is $109.95 on sale at PSA’s website.

I've got one of the RCA BCG's as well as 2 LMTs that they nitrided. I guess I need to pull a few of my "odd ball" BCG's and take them over one of these days. Bootleg, RCA, FCD, Lantac, LMT, LWRC, and have a Griffen Gas Pocket on the way.

To this day, every single AR I buy immediately gets the Rubber City Enhanced BCG (Standard Mass). My main rifle that I have been using for years in comps, cleaned it yesterday, I still get amazed at how effective they are. The other trick is to check the website often for when he has blems (cosmetic). You can pick them up right when that happens. Last time he listed blems I bought him out of the 3 he had.
