Gentleman's knife recommendations

Can I suggest giving him one of yours? Instead of buying him a new one,
My most cherished possessions were once my Fathers.

I gave my son a knife that was carried in combat, told him the story I knew about the knife he was holding in his hand.
I noticed my son tear up and the hug he gave me was long and heartfelt.
Last time at his house I noticed the knife in display, he truly holds that knife dearly to him.

Thank you for the suggestion mikko mikko . That's nice looking, but he is still in college, so concealment is important.
Fixed blades with the right sheath and a DCC or tracker dan clip are pretty easy to conceal.

However, for jurisdictions with constraints requiring a folding blade or maximum length I always thought the spyderco kahr delica with a 2.5” blade, or the Emerson CQC14 snubby were good choices. They offered handles of decent size and smaller blades. Could pocket carry in a desantis pocket magazine pouch to keep it oriented and break up pattern and prevent any clip showing. Also adding a titanium deep carry clip for another carry method is a good idea.

My son has a milestone birthday this year and I wanted to get him a gentleman's pocket knife. However, I am not having any luck finding one in wood and stainless less than $300. Boker Plus is a no-go. I was gifted one by my FIL and while it is aesthetically pleasing, I hate the action.

Looking for:
Under $300
Slim, svelte design
Wood handle/scales
Stainless blade
Pocket clip (deep carry a plus)
Flipper or button-lock action (no lock-back)

Alternatively, can I get a liner lock and have someone replace the scales? If so, any recommendations.

Thank you gents for your help.
