Georgia Carry Question: Does Location Matter?

image.jpg

Here is something the NRA had around 2004.

I have every license issued to me every fifth year back to 1995. They all have info on location where the gun may or may not be carried, but it is locations such as public buildings, public gatherings, etc. not locations on the body. All are the same with the exception of the current one issued in 2010. It is in much greater detail making the print so small I can hardly read it with a magnifying glass. However, it still refers to locations in buildings and events, not location on the person. The more recent one goes more affirmatively into where one can carry such as parks and recreation areas and the buildings on them, public transit, restaurants where less than 50% of revenue is from alcohol, etc. However, it also states that no one shall carry while consuming alcohol in a restaurant. I believe that has changed since my current license was issued in 2010. Apparently, the info on a license is a fluid thing.

Here is the link to SB 308, that changed the law in 2010. The holster provision was struck out, see page 3.

Thanks Boomer... I'm going to use this. I'll be talking to him tonight. If he can show me GA Code that proves he's right, I'll share it with y'all.
He will not be able to show you any current Ga. Code that limits the locations a GWCL holder can carry his or her weapon/s. Laws limit things, they don't make things legal. Nowhere in the Code is there any limitation on where you can carry on your body or off (bag, purse, briefcase............)

I run into this type of problem quite often. Problem is when some have been in high ranking positions they quit keeping up with new laws. An as people resist change, they don't change their thinking cause "they don't have to"Good thing the higher ranks are not enforcing the law like the younger better trained guys (sometimes).
