Extending a pistol barrel is a lot of effort. I have a XD service that I bought a XD tactical barrel with a 9mm conversion. Dobbs threaded that for me no problem. (tactical is 5", service is 4") The xds series can swap barrels amongst each other as well. That's the easiest path.



A M10 has a slower fire rate than the M11/9 and M11A1. It's still too fast though for serious competition. I can easily pull off doubles with my lages.

The reason the M10's fire rate is slower is simply due to size/mass. The M11's use a smaller frame than the M10's. The bolt mass is less than the M10's. The M10 is larger due to it being setup for double duty if you will. Being able to convert to .45acp.

It's pretty simple with open bolt FA's. Less mass, faster ROF. Lage uppers work to slow things down by adding weight to the bolt. I'll try to get you some pics tonight to show you how all of this stuff appears in real life.
