Glad I had my carry with me today

HANG UP THE DAMN PHONE AND DRIVE, BEFORE YOU KILL SOMEONE!

There, I feel better now that I got that off my chest.

I feel the same way and RARELY talk and drive. Although I don't think many here will share the sentiment.

And how much do you want to bet the excuse for being on the phone will be "business"?

Money always trumps safety.

Y'know...the phone thing as far as talking doesn't worry me. The DIALING and TEXTING, yes. But if you can talk to the person next to you in the car then surely TALKING with a hands free whether in your ear or built into the car shouldn't be a problem.

What makes zero sense to me is that they can ticket you for texting while driving but morons still have ****ing DOGS jumping all over their laps while driving. I'm not sure whether I want to shoot the dog or the owner but SOMEBODY needs a bullet.

Hands free devices cost $8 in the Haji Mart closest to my house. Sorry, most people are holding that phone up to their ear. I have no problem with a hands free device. The problem is that nobody wants to spend the $8 or whatever to get one.

My hands free cost $25,000..but it came with a pickup truck. ;)

I have been in an almost exact situation more than once. I have been riding for 35 years. These stupid people are out there. I have actually had to run for my life, while an ass wipe chased me in his car. we ended up fist fighting in the middle of the road, my bike laying down on it's side and traffic just went around us. That was back in the 80's. I worry if this happened today, me being much older, weaker yet wiser, if I had to pull my weapon and carry out the worst sort of defense and kill him, would I be charged for road rage crimes.....I guess it comes back to the ol' saying, I would rather be judged by six than carried by six! I read just this week, about an off duty detective that defended himself and family, has been charged for murder. I don't think anybody can say what they would do until the time comes to make the call.......

Generally I would agree with this statement, except for this study.

I guess it boils down to the fact that many many folks can't multitask safely when it comes to driving.

60 yards is 180 feet, or 10 pickup trucks. I've got more miles on motorcycles than I do in cars or trucks, so I understand the safety aspect of gapping, but 180 feet is a little extreme in my opinion, and I can see why someone would be upset. Instead of holding up traffic, pull over and take a break. People on motorcycles have rights, but no more rights than anyone else on the road and they shouldn't act like it. This is a prime example why so many people dislike people on motorcycles.
