Glock 42 Image

I was hoping for a Glockified version of the S&W Shield in 9mm. What is this .380 crap.

Thanks for sharing the pic. I can only hope it's a very impressive-looking fake.

It's going to be a .380. I'd imagine SHOT 2015 will be the 9mm version.

Note from the image that it's got the GA proof marks, a GA appropriate serial number and Gen 4 rtf type grip texture. I'd say this is pretty spot on.

Not impressed. If I were in the market for a single stack subcompact .380 I'd rather have an Gen 2 Ruger LCP and save a few dollars.

I just saw what you wrote about getting one - I meant no offense, haha. Best of luck with it and hope you enjoy it, .380 just isn't for me. Cool size, though.

And yeah, hopefully for 2015.....keeping my fingers crossed for another year :)

.380 isn't my favorite either, and I'm definitely not even close to replacing my trusty AirLite. I am curious if they've managed to crack the code on a compact .380. I've yet to find a pocket semi auto reliable enough to be a carry gun.

Yeah...this is bull****. They could have made a serious 9mm competitor for the Kahr or a genuine pocket .380, but Nooooo...they had to half ass it and make neither. So a long slide 45 ACP and a POS, too big 380 is what they came up with? ****. As good as Glocks customer support is you'd think they could frigging listen to us as well.

On Glock ID, their forum site, their own poll asking what they should make next was answered overwhelmingly with requests for a SS9. I don't get it.

If it works I think Glock will do alright with this pistol. I keep hearing how Glock missed the boat with this .380, but almost every company so far that has sold a pocket .380 lately has done pretty well. Ruger entered the market with only Kel-Tec and Kahr to contend with and did very well. A few years later S&W released their Bodyguard .380 and again it sold very well. Glock will most likely do the same. This pistol should be priced between $350 and $399 (here on OTD it will sell for $550FIRM), and at the $350 to $399 price point it will compete with the Bodyguard. Like the other companies that made a pocket .380 it seems the natural progression is to move on to 9mm and .40. I don't think this will be any different for Glock. Who knows, maybe Glock will announce a 9mm single at the NRA show.
