Glock OR M&P OR XD

I am considering getting a true compact pistol. Thinking about Glock 19 size but which of the "plastic" guns would fit a smallish hand best? I really haven't handled any of these before. I currently carry a full size 1911 but wanna try something lighter.

I know you said compact but I have a M&P 9 for sale on here w/ a leather holster it carries good nice and light.

I was in the very same situation. I chose the XD-M compact over the rest. It seemed to fit my hand the best out of the three. I also got my wife a XD sub-compact that feels really good. I liked the M&P a lot as well, the Glock just didn't fit at all.

Your best bet is to actually lay your hands on each of them. I went to a gun show, the last time it was worth the entry fee, just so I could get a feel for the various pistols. Good luck with your search.

I roll an M&P 9c and love it, but you cant go wrong with the G19 either. Not an Xd fan at all.
