I looked into it a while back, and if you mount a pistol on a rifle, tge ATF says that the pistol effectively has a stock and you need to be a registered SBR to be legal.

Yep, cause I saw this thing a long time ago, and had designed a much easier to make and sturdier mount to put any railed pistol on an AR, but then found out it would have to be registered as an SBR.

Not that I really needed a pistol mounted on a rifle, but I know I could have made some good money selling them to people who love the tacticool stuff.
