Glock switch

This illustrates the nebulous nature of US regulations, law and decrees.

I should not have b surprised n surprised that the Hlick switch in and of itself is illegal without a Glock being owned.

What about an M16 gore control kit including the M16 sear

Without a rifle or with a rifle without the additional hole in the lower receiver?

A suppressor is defined as an "arm" as well.

do you own a drill press? or a drill bit? then maybe.

That is exactly the basis of my original question.

Poserssion?

Intent ?

The answer likely is don’t risk it as it depends upon whether or not the Feds choose to prosecute.
An auto sear or a link or a suppressor is still considered a firearm as far as the AFT is concerned. owning full auto parts and an AR lower COULD be considered constructive intent. 2 different things.

Not to prolong this or to beat the proverbial dead horse , but I think that the M16 auto sear (part) is legal and readily available.

Its mentioned as being a replacement part only not for conversion.

As opposed to the Glock soitch which was never "legal" and does not predate the 1986 law than made it illegal to own or convert any machine guns made after the ascribed date.

Laughably named FAPO ,Firearms Owners Protection Act.

It is an interesting and complex topic.

DIAS is a machine gun
Lightning link is a machine gun
FA Uzi bolt is a machine gun

its the "registered part"

etc

This ^^^

The law (CGA '68 I believe) specifically states that any 'conversion device' that makes a gun full-auto is itself a 'machine gun'. You don't need to have an AR lower to go to jail for making a DIAS.

That's where that handy "readily converted" bs of theirs comes in. You can't just throw in an auto sear. You would need to drill that 3rd hole. In fact, once that third hole is drilled, that is all they need to prosecute you. So auto sear is OK. 3rd hole is not OK because it takes some precision and time to do.

On the other hand, they are now tracking purchases of 3d printers and filament. And they are also trying to crack down on 80% lowers, even though they need more precision work to function as a firearm than a 3rd hole would be to be readily convertible.
Have you ever watched special Olympics- aft wins in the mental gymnastics category every time. They are literally making this **** up as they go.
