GMC rant! Government motors refusal to repair an obvious engineering flaw

blame that on ethanol fuel....

Could be. I drive for a living so I run it from F to E. Well twice I blew the O-ring out of the sensor at the top of the tank so any fuel in the neck leaked out. I was thinking it was the pressure every time I filled it up. Then I went through a fuel pump and the GM service tech actually told me it was heat build up because I frequently run it below half. He told me to KEEP 1/2 a tankit to cool the pump. CRAZY. BUT besides a front wheel bearing (and 2 sensors & 1 pump) the thing PURRED through 200k miles.

I seriously mean no offense because I get that your mad but.....

Dude... It's 11 yeas old and the glue came off the window. That's 100% on you. It's the cost of owning an older used car. If you don't have a car payment and have to spend a few hundred now and then don't complain. Go price a 2014 Yukon, Expedition,, etc... Then you'll gladly fix that window. ;)

The window in the back is manual and operated with a pushbutton.

The auto glass company wouldn't touch it because they couldn't warrant a repair.

My Yukon is at 122000 miles so I'll get ready for the tranny rebuild! All things considered that's not bad mileage for a tranny.

Made the repair by removing the window and preping the area really good and slapping it all back together with JB Weld Clear Epoxy. The glue GMC used did not hold up and for whatever reason every single complaint deals with the passenger side only.

I have thought about buying Toyota!

I am not talking about a piece of molding come off the 10yr old Yukon and would understand no coverage to repair. It's the back glass for christs sake! The back glass should not come apart at any point in its life! Especially when it gets little to no use whatsoever. Whats next the other pieces of glass or the windshield.

This isn't the only problem I have had with this Yukon either.
Dash gauge potentiometers fualty causing the speed gauge to display different speeds while driving.
Battery died and caused the memory seat module to lose its software so dealer had to reload.
Auto dampers in ducts currently malfunction and cause hot air to blow rather than cold randomly.
Air indicator in tire is bad giving a low tire and needs air warning.
Then of course there's the back window that just fell off the hinge.

no offense testdepth but......having worked for GM for years Id be confused at why you are complaining as well.

did you buy it new? No
do you take it to the dealer for all your services and service work? if so then you should have a good rapport with that dealer and they could possibly cover it but................if you are like most people you drive in off the street, cussing GM and trying to strong arm the dealer into fixing it for free, you didn't buy it from GM new, you don't take it to the dealer for service (maybe and oil change if you have a coupon) and so its kinda like you've not financially participated with the company to even qualify as a GM customer and if your like most people if they did fix it youd blame something else unrelated on them, strongarm them into fixing that and then never seen again until something else breaks and 8 months later that is also the dealers fault.
Nearest dealer is a Chevy dealer and the nearest GMC dealer is 20 miles so no I don't take it to them to get serviced. I have personally seen how the only local Chevy dealer treats its loyal customers that do as you suggest and bring their cars there for serviceand I wouldn't treat someone I hated that way. If the Chevy dealer had offered to even try to repair it I would have appreciated it very much but his solution was to sell me a new door funny thing is, when I took it in for them to look at the guy asked if my wife had already brought it in because he remembered seeing this before recently. I asked my wife and she did not take it to the dealer so I guess there is another person here in Camden county with the same broken window.

10 years old, who knows how many miles, and not a common issue (seen only 1 in 7 years) and you want them to pay for it? Google the problem and it turns out to be fairly commonget some industrial adhesive and glue the hinge back on. I feel your pain but its not the manufacturer's fault and if your a good customer to a dealer then a good dealer would help you out. There in lies the problem, finding "A Good Dealer"

(not saying your like most people BTW, just a highly common situation)
Not a problem and I was very respectful and simply asked them if they could fix it and the dealer said no but he could sell me a new door for $800.00.

All 3, Ford, GM, and Dodge are good trucks. I myself am a long time Blue Oval man. You can't build that many trucks every year and not have a few hiccups.
I would drive / buy either of the 3. I just prefer the looks of the Ford over the others. Recalls? they've all had them... their warranties have all been questionable
at times. I have also been contemplating going with the TRD on my next purchase... but with my Ford, it will be quite some time before I will have to worry about that.
She's a great truck!!! 2008 F150 4-Door XLT.

Right2Carry I feel the same, I drive an 03 Silverado with 223000+ miles and the only time I pop the hood is to change the oil, I think it's a matter of preference .
