Goldbacks?

Wanted to stay away from the other thread these were brought up in. Has anyone purchased these? If so was it for gold investment, future currency uses, or just because they look neat?
I have thought about getting some but not sure if the best practical bang for buck for fractional gold is this or 1/10 oz or even the pamp small pieces

I watch several silver and gold stacking channels. Several of them have talked about the goldbacks in recent years. But personally I just don't see the point. Not nearly enough gold content to make it viable. Kinda like Kennedy half dollars after 64. In recent years metal smelters/refiners don't even want them because 40% silver just ain't worth the trouble. But...I could be wrong.

As I've done more research I definitely see that on a dollars per oz scale they are not a great investment but in a situation that fiat paper is gone they could be useful for purchasing same as junk silver pieces. I probably will get some at some point in my monthly PM buying rotation.
