good honest vehicle mechanic in Kennesaw area

I have a friend whose car shuts down every time shortly after he turns it on. We both recently moved to Georgia and I still haven't yet found a good honest mechanic in the Kennesaw area. Does anybody have any recommendations? Any help would be MUCH appreciated.

First off start with the basics. Fuel filter, air filter, and spark plugs. When were they changed last? Current condition? Are you or him mechanically skilled enough to do the tune up yourself? If so and thats all it is its an easy fix. If not then you need to get into diagnostics. Is the check engine light on? If so take it to advance auto parts and have them read the code if you can get it there.
