Good knife for field dressing deer

Really any quality 3-4” lock back with a standard point would be fine. I’m using my old quality Gerber Gator that I’ve had since about 98. The key is good quality and SHARP.

Old Schrade PH1 has always served me well.

There is no finer hunting knife than a White River Knives Hunter… there are plenty of good ones but this one is the absolute best short of a custom.
And yes, I realize that is an opinionated statement… it just happens to be right :becky:

Air force survival knife, I don't know what they're selling for these days. I think I've paid around $25-35 for the ones I have. It's a sheath knife with a leather handle, parkerized stainless blade with a saw on the top of the blade. I've had and used the same knife since @ 1983. That same knife has field dressed every deer I've ever taken including cutting through the rib cage. That knife has seen lots of use. Also you'll need a decent sharpening stone and know how to use it. I've also seen people use a pocket knife to dress deer.
