Court overturns Marine sniper's conviction for urinating on dead Taliban fighters
http://.foxnews.com/us/2017/11/10/court-overturns-marine-snipers-conviction-for-urinating-on-dead-taliban-fighters.html

I've known this story since I was still active. I won't comment on what other soldiers/marines/airmen/corpsman etc do overseas except to say I always had these dudes back. While I was in, the way these marines were treated gave all of us on the ground in the mud a bad feeling about the climate back home and violated the sacredness of ground combat.

As the airforce fixes updating their record keeping, as I'm sure all branches of the military are, I'm glad to see these cases being revisited.

Regardless of what you believe is right or wrong for our troops while engaged in serious ground combat, if you haven't been there, and haven't done that, then you'll never understand. I'm not mad at anyone who believes these men should have been punished, maybe less severely, maybe more harshly. That is your right. All I'll say is, how did you treat your EPWs and EKIA during your multiple combat deployments overseas?

I'm happy this man can finally be officially recognized for his bravery, heroics, achievements, and sacrifice as well as receive the benefits entitiled to him for such.

I'm an Army Infantryman myself, but today I'm cheering for you jar heads. Enjoy it Devil Dogs.

I believe there is a simple explanation for conviction and now the overturn of it.

Barak Hussein was president when he was convicted.
Trump is president now that it's been overturned.
Oh you can believe that Marine Command was instructed by POTUS to hammer these dudes we all saw it bright as day when he did it. What I'm really happy about is that he wasn't forgotten and lost in the sauce, he's been vindicated within Trumps first year of presidency there's a little F U to the judge presiding over Berghdals case.

"Chamblin said at the time that he does not regret his actions, adding that he would do it again if he had the chance. “[If] anything, it was more of a psychological effect on the enemy because if an infidel touches the body, they’re not going to Mecca or paradise,” he told reporters at the time, according to the New York Post. “So, now these insurgents see what happens when you mess with us.”

I personally wouldn't waste piss on a headlopper. I pray Birddog's case is reviewed and that scumbag judge's ruling is overturned and he is heavily reprimanded.

Never been there and couldn't imagine what you and all infantry troops go through. I have zero issue with them doing any of this, these folks were just trying to kill them and I can't imagine the anger and hatred that I would have for someone that was shooting at me.

Edit: After putting the situation into perspective reading post #8 I understand these actions even more.

In adding also remove that judge from his duties on the bench. I wish he would be charged with gross negligence in his duties and responsibility's as a Judge.

If people knew what a deployment in Helmand is like, and how many guys we loose every time we go stomping around in RC south, or the civilian casualty count from IEDs, the abused children, the decapitated bodies, the raped women......then maybe they'd understand, why a soldier or marine, after a terrifying, exhausting, violent battle with the perpertraitors might feel the need to give them a little extra "what for".

Zero issue with killing the enemy and ensuring they get no virgins! This war would have been over long ago if the rules of engagement were simply to seek out the enemy where ever they may hide whether in a mosque or in a hole and terminate with extreme prejudice.
