Got a new gun today - not very common around here

Those are awesome guns. I’m on the hunt for an MR88 in .357 Magnum that can be used as the basis for a 3” custom build.

Now this does not make much sense to me. 9mm vs .357 mag!!

"The revolver can be converted to 9×19mm Parabellum with a supplied replacement cylinder, however, 9×19mm Parabellum under French law has the status of ammunition of war. Thus, from the early 1980s, production was limited to the versions in .38 Special/.357 Magnum."

9mm Parabellum / 9x19mm is a military-issued round. .38 Special / .357 Magnum is not.

I know, but if I had my rathers, I would rather be shot with a 9mm.

Yeah, but that’s not why they make the distinction. Restrictions on military calibers are very common in Europe, as well as Mexico, Central America, and South America. That’s one of the main reasons that .38 Super is so popular with Mexicans.

Did not know that. Understand
