I'd see a doctor about the projectiles not going bang. They might can fix that for you.

Gunpowder if different, it has inherit properties that make it "dangerous". Those projectiles are no more dangerous than the rocks in their front landscaping or a battery post from the auto parts store.

I bought 4 different calibers at the Academy in Macon today. Absolutely no problem or asking for i.d. at all.

UPDATE ! I went back today to purchase some other stuff...I do like AS and am not a hater ....When I tried to return my projectiles he said they will not accept returns for "ammo'...I told him the only way this can hurt him is throw it at him as well as for him to tell me where it says "ammo" on the box ....he called a manager , The same guy I dealt with before , they returned my money ....My only complaint with them is not being educated to what they sell ....I will still shop there .

Just show him your Sams card next time. It has your picture on it and it is an "ID".

NOT Ammunition . I asked him what "Their" policy is and he stated they ask for I.D. when purchasing items such as "ammunition" ....Sorry but don't have time for letters just like I wasn't about to walk out to my truck and back in to show them my I.D. With that being said another manager after hearing my complaint decided to sell it to me after all the fuss ....My hair is grey , age spots everywhere and if someone said I look younger than 45 it would be a compliment .

Ammo, projectiles, bullets, cartridges, rounds, whatever. There are only 2 things AS will not accept as a return. That and guns. Also, while the corporate lawyers require trigger guards stay on if you feel like you really MUST pull one (having surely read extensive reviews on a gun you are interested in, I'm not sure why you need to), if you are a regular you may get to do so. If it's your first time in there you won't. Its a big company, not your local LGS. Watch the ammo wall sometime and see the customers that must open every box for inspection. Not every customer is a responsible gun owner. I don't blame them for some of their rules. If you don't mind paying more, go local and fondle away.
