Got new respect for Larry Vickers

The thing to remember is what a personal trainer once told me: No matter how fast you are you can't outrun the fork.

If you want to lose weight it's 95% nutrition.

He's been a gym member for 1.5 years and still considers himself fat. In another two years he'll be the same unless he gets his nutrition under control.

I agree 100%! In the last month and a half I've dropped 35lbs just by changing my eating and drinking habits. While I've always carried my weight well (stocky not dumpy), my doctor said it's time for a change.

I'm 5'9 and started at 229.7lbs which was my heaviest ever. The last time I weighed (10 days or so ago) I weighed 194.8lbs. Now mind you, I'm now slouch.. I can still run, climb, flip and throw hands with the best of'em. Not bad for being a young 37 :becky:.

Much respect but I’m betting his current diet has more to do with his weight, than his past badassery does.

I’ve never been a badass, but I’ve been a fatass on several occasions.

It is statements like this that make me glad to be around you dude. #realtalk #foshizzlemynizzle

Unfortunately there are always miserable and crappy people out there . I say the man has more than earned the right to get fat or even cut his penis off if he wants . Life , liberty and the pursuit of happiness .

Usually people who make extremely pointless negative comments are just jealous that they are not happy with their own life . Self esteem issue.

No unfortunately there are people who don't take personal responsibility for their actions, there are plenty of Broke Joes out there myself included. I know plenty of SF guys who retired had double knee replacements, back surgeries etc, but like was mentioned above its about diet and life choices. Since I retired from the 82nd i put on 25 lbs. Part of it was the lack of PT but the majority of it was my diet, fast food twice a day and large amounts of adult beverages. last month I decided to make a personal choice when somebody called me fat on FB, I cut out the fast food, sodas and started walking more. I have met Larry and seen him eat several times, the last at Shot Show 2015, if he wants to pushback the pounds he needs to pushback the plate.

ETA: I respect Larry for his service but knowing him he's a Feminine cleaning agent container.
