This is my grampaws old Smith & wesson I recently acquired. Don't know much about it. Thought maybe someone on here could school me on it.

Are there patent dates on top of the barrel?
Appears to be a .32 Hand Ejector Model 1903, 3rd change. Mfg 1909-1910.
S/N range 95501-96125

As an owner of a 32 Longcolt vintage 1917, there is at least a dozen or more varieties of this particular S&W . So you really need a 4th or 3rd addition S&W bible to figure what you actually have. It’s a fun journey . It’s a cool piece of history which ever model it is

That last date (September) isn't noted in the book. Appears to be a different/later model. Perhaps a fifth change.
Is the serial number between 102501 and 263000?
If so, mfg circa 1910-1917.

I have two of those S&W 32 pistols.
one belonged to my grandmother on my daddy's side it has pearl handles.
one belonged to my Brother in-law's mother.
