Nah Himmler issued a line of pistols with his insignia to officers and politicians as gifts.
He was very close to Sauer and had a variety of options available even revolvers from America.
The next strongest Man under Hitler was Goring and he used American Revolvers as his side arm he was also obsessed with Cowboy films.
My Grandfather got to meet Herman Goring, when he was in a prison in Alabama serving time till the Trials started.

I'm pretty sure they didn't bring Goring back to the US prior to the Nuremberg trials.

I have to agree. I don’t see the US capturing him in Germany, flying him to Alabama and then flying him back to Nuremberg.
It's a matter of public record. They took a couple of weeks (in a Bavarian hospital, I think) to get him off the morphine he was addicted to and then shipped him to Luxembourg. A month or so there and then off to Trial.
His memory started to fail him I told him I think he was confused caused he was still in Germany on duty.
I tried not to correct him and brushed it off cause the things he had been thru and his age.
I personally don’t believe no reason for them to bring Goring, to the US just to do trials in Nuremberg.
He was diagnosed with Parkinson’s at 74 and struggled to remember our names or who his grandchildren even was.
He did have some better days when he would reflect on the days before the war but after 74 it was scrambled 😞.
He however wasn’t completely wrong and The state of Alabama did indeed house many Nazi POW.

Yea when they get old like that.......We take care of both our surviving parents. I told my Ma in Law she couldn't do anything wrong. Just do what pleases her. My Dad, I just try my best to keep him on the right track
