You can get a hunting license, but it is written in Japanese. There is a guy on accuratereloading.com that lives there that kills some giant sika bucks. He said it is very hard to impossible for someone who is not Japanese to hunt there. I think it is shotgun only.

Yep. You can get shotguns and air rifles but it ain't easy.
